Streamline Your Success: A Guide to Creating Efficient Systems
Number one question I get asked ALL THE TIME…. “How do I not feel so overwhelmed with all the moving pieces in a business?”
I’m going to break it down for you, so first things first…
1. Write out EVERYTHING you have to do.
Don’t skip. This is an important step. Visually seeing everything you need to do in a week helps you strategize your time. This allows you to ultimately spend less time getting more done.
2. Categorize it into alike tasks.
Example:
Emails, dms, messages = responding
Writing blogs, writing newsletters, writing captions = writing
Creating graphics, posts, etc. = creating
3. Assign each “task group” to a certain day.
Make sure this makes sense so everything is in order and you're not working backwards.
Example: You can’t fully create graphics for your blog post if you haven’t written your blog and don’t know what the topic will be. So schedule writing before creating graphics.
4. Keep that plan in a place where you see it each day.
This will help you see what needs your attention that day.
Think of it as a plane. A plane can get to its destination a lot quicker if it takes off, flies then lands where it’s supposed to go. It’ll take ALOT longer if it takes off, gets distracted and lands to do another task then takes off again but then lands to focus on something else and repeat the process.
Focusing on your main task will allow you to get more done in a less amount of time when you’re not thinking of 50 things at one time.
5. Share that plan with a like-minded person
This is where accountability starts and growth begins. No one is good alone, we weren’t created that way. We were designed for relationships. Healthy ones.
Finding those who will support you, encourage you, and give you a healthy “love kick in the booty” from time to time is a good thing. You never grow in your comfort zone.
I hope this gives you some tangible steps on how to clear overwhelm and start moving the needle in your business, because that’s what we want, right? We do not want to be stuck behind the computer all day. Our goal should be to increase impact, influence, and income without sacrificing our family. Psst… this exercise will help!
Cheering you on!
