I got the honor of capturing McKenzie and Jesse’s special wedding day. What a joy it was to watch them proclaim their love to one another in front of their closest friends and family members in Hope, Arkansas.

McKenzie and Jesse were high school sweethearts who are madly in love with one another. This was evident on their wedding day as smiles flooded their faces throughout the whole day.

The venue of Twelve Oaks in Hope, Arkansas was a beautiful outdoor wedding venue. With the wide open field behind the bride and groom, it made me think about how wide open their future as husband and wife, as they start their lives together.

Typically the first look between the bride and groom is my favorite moment, granted that was a beautiful moment, but when the bride did a first look with her family, that was a moment I was thankful to witness. It was so sweet to watch her Dad tear up as he saw his baby girl as a bride. Each of her immediate family members was able to see her before she walked down the aisle. Seeing McKenzie as a beautiful bride was something they have dreamed and prayed about for so long, they wanted to cherish every moment of it.

At the ceremony, officiated by McKenzie’s youth pastor, they shared vows to love and cherish each other for the rest of their lives. Those promises were sealed with a kiss and a prayer for God to watch over them and bless their marriage. They chose to do a unity braid which represented Ecclesiastes 4:12, “A cord of three strands is not easily broken.” This will be put up in their house as a reminder of the vows they promised to one another and no matter what happens in their marriage, God is always with them.

The reception was full of laughter and well wishes for the bride and groom. A popcorn bar was there for all to enjoy because “life is salty but love is sweet.” And of course, there was delicious cake and cupcakes! The father-daughter dance made everyone tear up (myself included). It was such a special moment between a Dad and his oldest daughter.

The mother-son dance was also really special for Jesse and his Mom to have a moment together. The bride and groom’s first dance was precious. It was an intimate moment for the two of them, it seemed as if the rest of the world had disappeared from them for a few minutes.

I know of the Efirds because McKenzie’s mom, Holly, was my oldest son’s kindergarten teacher and holds a special place in our hearts. This family is absolutely the sweetest! They were so thoughtful and brought me a Chick-Fil-A sandwich in-between shootings. They made me feel like an Efird and I truly love that about them!

McKenzie and Jesse, thank you for entrusting me to capture your special day! It was an honor to watch the two of you proclaim your love for one another in front of all those you love. I hope that you are able to cherish these photographs for a lifetime. I personally pray that God blesses your marriage and you are both able to honor and glorify Him with your lives.

Hugs, Hannah Capps
